The 2024 School Satisfaction Survey is open!
Every year the Department for Education, Children and Young People conducts a School Satisfaction Survey to find out what your child(ren)'s school does well and where it may improve. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school improvement planning and decision-making.
If you have not had the opportunity to complete the survey about Exeter Primary School yet, it is open until Friday 20 September 2024 and should take about 5 minutes of your time.
All families should have received an email from their child’s classroom teacher with further information and a link to the survey. If you have not received this email, please contact your class teacher and it can be resent.
Class Placement 2025
We will soon begin the process of constructing our classes for the 2025 school year. If there is any relevant information that we need to consider regarding your child’s, academic, social, and emotional wellbeing during our process, please email me directly before Monday, September 23. zachary.tayor@decyp.tas.gov.au
As a staff we conduct a rigorous process to ensure that there is equity for all classes, requests cannot be guaranteed. Requests of individual teachers will not be considered.
We are presently taking Kindergarten enrolments; we have a number of information sessions planned during Term 4 to support our new families settle into school life.
If your child will not be remaining at Exeter Primary School in 2025, can you please contact the school office as soon as possible.
This week is Foster Care Week - a week recognise and thank those foster carers and kinship carers in our community who go above and beyond to provide care and support to children and young people.
Foster carers are individuals, couples and families that open their homes and hearts to children and young people when they are unable to live at home.
Family based foster care settings provide children with a family environment for as long as needed until they can return to their families or until they exit care, generally at 18 years of age.
We have critical shortages of foster carers. If you have ever considered becoming a foster carer go to our DECYP website: www.decyp.tas.gov.au/children/out-of-home-care-in-tasmania/foster-care/

During Term 3, we have been learning about light and shadows in Science. We have participated in several art activities which help us to understand different types of shadows and the cause and effect of the position of light sources. Additionally, we have looked at refraction and how light bends when it travels through water and thus creates the illusion that our picture has flipped or changed direction. You can see our amazing vegetable paintings in the Art Gallery and here are our plans for shadow puppets and completed creations. As well, you will see our experiments with refraction on this page.
