Enrolments 2025
If you are not intending to enrol your child here at Exeter Primary in 2025, can you please email me directly, Zachary.taylor@decyp.tas.gov.au. Our enrolment numbers determine class structure and staffing levels, both Teachers and Teacher Assistants. We are in the final stages of class placements, and we will need additional time to finalise these if numbers change.

Building Healthy Relationships from an Early Age
Exeter Primary School is committed to helping students develop the skills they need to build healthy, respectful relationships from a young age.
Respectful Relationships and Consent Education at our school teaches children about:
- Understanding and respecting personal boundaries
- Identifying safe and unsafe situations
- Seeking help when needed
Families can support this learning at home by having age-appropriate conversations about respect, consent, and body autonomy.
Building respectful relationships starts early and lays the foundation for positive interactions throughout life.
The Conversation Guide has been developed by the Australian Government and is a useful resource for discussing these topics with children and young people.
If you have any questions, contact Exeter Primary School.

As we enter term 4, there are multiple events taking place. See below for further information that will assist in supporting you to prepare for these special events:
Year 7 Orientation Day
Date: Wednesday, November 20th
Location: Exeter High School
Orientation Day is being held at all Government schools on this day. This is an all-day structured high school timetable, enabling students to have an experience of what this will be like in 2025.
A letter has already gone to Grade 6 students outlining our expectations regarding orientation day. Further information from the High School (including a timetable for the day) and will be sent home in Week 5.
Please note:
Students do not attend Exeter Primary at all on this day and there is an expectation that all students will find appropriate transport to their High School as they will in 2025. If students are attending a non-Government high school, they are expected to attend Exeter Primary on this day.
Grade 6 Assembly
Date: Monday December 16th 11.30am
Venue: PAC
Celebration Dinner
Date: Monday 16th December 6pm
Venue: PAC
A letter outlining the costs will go home to parents by the end of Week 5 allowing time for them to prepare for the cost. The cost per student will be $25. An invitation will be given to each student created by the parent organisation committee.
I thank the organisation committee for the planning already underway for this exciting celebration.
Leavers Tops
These will be given to students in Week 4 and can be worn every second day in Term 4.
In 5/6W we have been learning to replicate an Aurora Australis. Using chalk and pastils students created images that replicate this natural phenomenon.
Every School Day Matters: EPS Attendance Process
To align with DECYP’s priority of Attendance, schools are developing a Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to reduce absenteeism. At Exeter:
Tier 1 includes students with attendance greater than 80%.
Tier 2 are students with attendance between 70-79% and
Tier 3 have attendance levels less than 70%.
Each tier has different levels of support.
At the Tier 1 level an updated, more stringent school process for Explained and Unauthorised absences has been created. The Flowchart involves:
- Teachers contacting parents/families more often via phone or email
- Team Leaders making contact after 5 explained absences over a period of time. A Doctor’s Certificate or Statutory Declaration will need to be provided to Admin upon request
- A formal attendance letter sent from school after 10 days of Explained or Unauthorised absence
- Social Work intervention or Strong Families, Safe Kids notifications as required
If you have any questions, please contact the school.
