The School Association is an important part of the school, working with the Principal to achieve shared outcomes for learners attending the school and for the benefit of the whole school community. Membership of the School Association provides a forum for the sharing of knowledge and skills. The School Association meets at least twice each term, these dates will be communicated. We welcome all parents to attend these meetings to have input into the future direction of Exeter Primary School.
Athletic Carnivals
During the past two weeks students have had the opportunity to participate in our annual school carnival. This was my first experience of an Exeter Primary School carnival (Last years postponed due to COVID-19). I was very proud of the way in which all students participated, demonstrated excellent fair play and a sense of fun and enjoyment. Additionally, it was great to have parents onsite cheering on and encouraging their children, it created an exciting atmosphere. I would like to thank Mr Habel, Mr Chesshire and staff for their organisation and commitment to creating a wonderful event.
Progress Reports
Next Tuesday families will receive progress reports to show how students have settled into the school year. This is an opportunity to celebrate growth and achievement. Next Term we will hold our Parent Teacher interviews if the current COVID -19 conditions remain. We will communicate further information before the end of Term 1.
Kind Regards,

Grade 6 Camp and Grade 5 Challenge Day
What a busy week our upper primary classes have had this term.
Students in Grade 6 went on the annual three-day Camp to Hobart and Port Arthur to support their HASS studies this term. They had a fantastic but busy time away. The group visited many sites and were given glowing feedback about their behaviour, attitude, and engagement whilst away. Students are now exploring convicts and members of early Tasmanian life as part of their ongoing learning and we look forward to seeing their work towards the end of term. A huge thankyou to the staff, Adrian, Fieona, Peter, Kate and Zach who supported the students during their time away.
Grade 5 students were also kept busy during this time, with students travelling to the Trevallyn Reserve to participate in the Grade 5 Challenge Day. The day was a time to work together as a grade group, develop team building skills and aspire to grow and achieve in a range of activities. The group were joined by Mark Brown from the PCYC Mac Van to help facilitate activities. It was a hot day and many wasps joined the challenges however students participated with pride and empathy and everyone had a great day. A huge thanks to Tony, Ollie, Dawn and Bec who joined the Challenge Day and kept an eye out for VIP’s and team co-operation and participation.
K-2 Athletic Carnival
The K-2 Athletic Carnival was very successful with the children enjoying a range of activities in good conditions. In just over an hour and a half, students gave their best in 9 activities often competing many times at each station. It was good to see so many spectators able to follow their children around the oval.
A big thankyou goes out to the students on their performance, teachers on their organisation of classes and the Grade 6 Sports Leaders and additional helpers for their assistance at the stations.
3-6 Athletic Carnival
Congratulations to Brady on winning the Grades 3-6 Athletic Carnival on Friday in warm conditions. It was Brady’s first win since 2010. The scores were close all day with each team holding slender leads at some stage before Brady finally winning with a total of 962 points to Dalrymple 952 and Batman 846. It was a pleasure to see the participation of nearly every student and the friendly rivalry and camaraderie amongst Houses. The cheering and barracking was a highlight with Mrs Sims encouraging support on the microphone and the sportsmanship from all competitors was fantastic.
Congratulations to all students on your performances and behaviour. Thanks to parents, friends, staff and students for their support of the Carnival and to the Exeter High School students who helped officiate. Thankyou to Mr Chesshire on the preparation of the oval for both Carnivals.
In Division 1 events the standout performers were:
Grade 3: Zoe, Ivy, Ebony, Oscar, Neeson
Grade 4: Layla, Ava, Chloe, Emma, Alex, Xavier, Tom, Aaron
Grade 5: Cammi, Kasey, Ava, Lexton, Thomas, Jessie
Grade 6: Stella, Libby, Rylee, Zoe, Willow, Chloe, Braydenlee, Mason, Coby, Kai , Jacob
