The demands that COVID-19 has placed on society and school communities has been immense, however it has enabled opportunities for innovation and change in the way we go about our daily life.
As a school, we have had to change and evolve in the way we teach and cater for student learning, particularly when we were faced with students learning from home.
This year staff have reflected on the way we want to operate and continue to prosper as professionals to ensure we are allowing students to: grow, be aspirational, develop respect and build courage to be the best version of themselves. Through a process of looking at current education research and Department Of Education documentation we have developed a new Vision for Exeter Primary School. The new Vison will underpin what we strive to achieve in our school setting. We would welcome any feedback about our new Vision.
Exeter Primary School Vision
At Exeter Primary School we respect diversity, building on all learners' strengths and take collective responsibility for individual needs and aspirations.
We use evidence to inform learning and to provide meaningful feedback to students and families. Through inquiry, students are encouraged to be responsible, resilient and curious learners.
Collaborative processes inform teacher plannning and builds learning that intentionally fosters creativity and facilitates deeper understanding.
We create authentic community partnerships which are pivotal in providing learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Kind Regards,
Just a reminder that when students arrive late to school,
they MUST be signed in by a parent or carer through the
Office and then taken to class.

3/4 Duncan have been investigating the effect of forces on the behaviour of an object through actions such as throwing, dropping, bouncing, and rolling. These forces include magnetic, gravitational and friction. We have also been learning about the six simple machines and how they work and how we use them in our everyday life. These machines include a wedge, a pulley, a wheel and axle, an inclined plane, a screw, and a lever. We are now putting all this knowledge together and designing our own Rube Goldberg machines. We look forward to sharing the finished products with everyone.
10 books in 10 weeks- an easy challenge!
A reminder that all students have been enrolled to participate in this challenge that is running for term 2. Students that participate go in the weekly draw to win a school visit from Hawka. Once completed, students will receive an eraser, a certificate from the Premier and entry into the draw to win a $100 book voucher. Larger chapter books can be counted as more than 1 book- students can talk to their class teacher about this. Home Reading Logs can be used to count the 10 books. Once completed, Mrs Smith and Mrs Clarke in the library will organise completion certificates and enter students into the draw for the book voucher. Happy reading!!!

Congratulations to our squad of 48 that competed at Beaconsfield last Wednesday. With challenging courses of approximately 1950m (Gr. 3/4) and 2450m (Gr. 5/6) the students took on the challenge with eagerness and recorded some impressive results.
Running against the other 5 schools in the Tamar Association with up to 6 representatives from each school, Exeter filled 13 of the 32 places for ribbons and had 29 runners in the top 10.
Well done to the team in a strong display of competitive and determined running. A special thanks to Belinda Simpson and parent helpers on the day
Tasmanian All Schools Cross Country at Symmons Plains is on Tuesday, 22 June.
