2021 School Satisfaction Surveys
Each year the Department of Education conducts School Satisfaction Surveys in Tasmanian Government schools, to gain feedback on what you think our schools do well and where you think we may improve.
We encourage you to complete the survey about Exeter Primary School. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school planning and decision-making.
Survey link: https://ncv.microsoft.com/uwRVPWiv5L
All responses are anonymous and confidential with the survey carried out on a secure website.
You can complete the online survey at any time until Friday 17 September 2021.
COVID–19 Update
In the event we have cases of COVID-19 enter the State, it may be likely that there will be a 3–5-day lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus in line with the State Governmmnet plan. If a lockdown is called, we will communicate this with families though our normal process of Facebook and Schoolzine (newsletter) channels. Part of the communication will include how families will be able to access learning tasks.
A range of offline learning resources for the home are available at:
https:/www.education.tas.gov.au/learning-at-home/
These learning activities can be undertaken with limited resources in the home environment. They can be accessed via mobile phone or device. To engage in the work students will only need access to limited stationery such as :
- Pencil or Biro
- Pad Paper or Exercise Book
Cyber Bullying
Recently I have had several conversations with parents around cyberbullying. With the increased use of technology due to Covid–19 times here are some key things that families can do to support online safety.
- Help them to keep a record of the bullying in case it needs to be reported
- Reporting serious cases of cyberbullying to the Police - cyber stalking, which is repeated harassment usually containing threatening messages with the aim to intimidate and create fear, is a crime and should always be reported
- Help your child to “call out” the bullying behaviour
- Encourage them to use statements like “You are going too far – this is bullying, and I want you to stop”
- Suggest your child ‘block’ or remove people bullying them from their friend list and change their username or mobile number
- Help them file a complaint with the website manager
- Help them spend some time away from the computer and mobile phone by increasing their options for doing other fun activities
- Follow up after your child tries a solution to see how it went
- Check out the eSafetywebsite for more information on cyberbullying and access to their reporting and complaints system

Enrolments are now open for Kindergarten in 2022. If your child was born in 2017 they are eligible to attend our current Pre-Kindergarten program. Sessions are held in the Kindergarten room and are facilitated by Mrs Sally Fisher. Participation in these sessions assists children to become comfortable and confident to start school, helping them transition well into Kindergarten. Sessions are held once a week every Friday, 9:00am - 10:15am or 1:30pm- 2.45pm.
If you have not received enrolment forms for 2022, please contact the school office to request enrolment forms. We look forward to meeting all of our Kindergarten families for 2022 and working together to build a strong connection between home and school.
In 1/2 Hookway-Dare Crawford, we have been looking at COMPARING during Reading. We have looked at the similarities and differences of characters and storylines. For Book Week we compared our REAL selves to our COSTUMED selves and found we have a lot in common with characters from books.
A Fitbit was found on one of our Manions buses.
If you believe the Fitbit to be yours please contact the School Office and tell us which bus it may have been found on and give a description of the Fitbit so that we can have your property returned to you.

An Iphone was handed into the school office on Tuesday morning. Could this be yours? Please phone 63944700 to provide details.
Between 6-7pm tonight in the PAC and library, students are invited to come along with 1 parent/guardian (to allow for required social distancing). Children can come in PJs and bring a pillow to enjoy some stories and supper. Dads are especially welcome! We hope you can come and join the fun.
