As the end of term looms near, it has been timely to revisit expectations of learning and behaviour with our staff and students. Staff are making conscious efforts to ‘catch’ students doing the right thing; that is, students who are abiding by our school motto of “Be Safe, Be your Best, Care for the Rest”. Students have made great improvements in a short timeframe and we are extremely proud of the aspiration they have shown to be better versions of themselves. Teachers continue to provide quality learning programs for your children and we are thankful for their ongoing professionalism.
Parent Satisfaction surveys close at the end of week, Friday 17 September. If you have not done so already, this is a perfect opportunity for you to give feedback to us aboutwhat we are doing well and how we can improve.

Kind Regards,
1/2 Kerrison-Atkins have been enjoying Wellbeing Wednesday sessions in our classroom. This term we have focussed on:
- Developing a Growth Mindset and thinking about the Power of Yet (rather than saying we can’t do something; we can change our words and our mindset by saying we can’t do it YET)
- Positive self-talk through our positive affirmation silhouettes
- How anxiety and worry can affect our bodies and strategies to deal with worry – one of which was our gorgeous worry dolls
As we continue to raise the profile of reading for enjoyment, there will be a “My Pet Can Read!” photo competition for students over the school holidays.
Students are invited to take a photo of their pet “reading” (or farm animal or stuffed toy). Photos (1 per student) need to be submitted via email to Mrs Smith at ellen.smith@education.tas.gov.au by the end of Week 1 Term 4, Friday 15 October. Entry categories are-
Kinder - Prep
Grade 1 - 2
Grade 3 - 4
Grade 5 - 6
Winners will be announced at the Week 2 Assembly and receive a book prize. Happy reading!
A big thank you to our families (especially the dads) who came along to enjoy this special night. It was so wonderful to see our students enjoying books with their parents and carers. Our special staff readers were very entertaining, and the milo and biscuit supper certainly warmed up a tummy or two! Students went home with a book gift, and we hope they enjoy sharing them with their families.

Entries forms are now available. Please collect your form from the office. Details are available on the STC website www.schoolstriathlonchallenge.com.
Students can participate as an individual, in a team or both. (Students only pay $25 regardless of how many events they are entered in).
Exeter Primary School would like all entries back before the school holidays, therefore entries close at our school on Wednesday, 22 September.
Your money and entry form should be given to the school office.
On the day, Mr Habel will attend and provide a central meeting place with a tent however students have to organise their own transport to and from Devonport and transport of any bikes.
Enrolments are now open for Kindergarten in 2022. If your child was born in 2017 they are eligible to attend our current Pre-Kindergarten program. Sessions are held in the Kindergarten room and are facilitated by Mrs Sally Fisher. Participation in these sessions assists children to become comfortable and confident to start school, helping them transition well into Kindergarten. Sessions are held once a week every Friday, 9:00am - 10:15am or 1:30pm- 2.45pm.
If you have not received enrolment forms for 2022, please contact the school office to request enrolment forms. We look forward to meeting all of our Kindergarten families for 2022 and working together to build a strong connection between home and school.
