Tasbash Visit
What a privilege it was to host the 2021 Variety Tasbash participants at our school last Thursday. The charity work Variety Tasbash do to support Tasmanian communities is exceptional, targeted to those people in need. In addition to the buzz, noise, and excitement the visit provided, there was a clear message to our students about being charitable and looking after those who are less fortunate or doing it tough.
I am humbled to announce that as a school we are a recipient of Variety Tasbash fundraising efforts, as we were gifted a donation of nearly $5000.00 to support the wellbeing and engagement of our students. As we firm our plans of what the donation will deliver in our learning spaces, we will provide further information. We thank the Variety Tasbash organisation for their support.
Class Placement Requests
A final reminder about class placements. We are in the process of organising staff and classes for 2022, students will not necessarily be placed with their current class teacher next year. If you have any relevant information about your child we need to consider during this process, we ask that you put this in writing for our consideration. Additional information may include:
- Academic support
- Social / emotional needs
- Behaviour support
Please be aware that requests for teachers will not be considered. I ask that this information is provided to me in writing via email to zachary.taylor@education.tas.gov.au by the end of week 4, Friday November 5.
If your child is not returning to Exeter Primary School in 2022 please let us know. If you know of any 4-year-old children in the area who have not enrolled in Kinder please encourage them to give us a call.
COVID-19
It’s important that we all continue to remain healthy and safe as our borders begin to open. Maintaining good, ingrained hygiene practices are key to keep on top of COVID-19 please make sure you:
- Be alert to any symptoms of cold or flu that you or your child may exhibit
- Get tested for COVID if you or your child have symptoms
- Practise good hygiene, such as covering coughs and sneezes and washing hands
- If you or your child do get sick, stay at home until symptoms has passed, even if a COVID test is negative
Remember, symptoms include fever, tiredness, cough, headache, sore throat, sniffling and sneezing.
To keep our school safe, we are still:
- continuing with increased cleaning
- making sure there is plenty of soap, sanitiser, and tissues available
- applying restrictions to large gatherings of adults and encouraging physical distancing
- requiring visitors to check-in on our sites
Kind Regards,

School Association Meeting
Enrolments are now open for Kindergarten in 2022. If your child was born in 2017 they are eligible to attend our current Pre-Kindergarten program. Sessions are held in the Kindergarten room and are facilitated by Mrs Sally Fisher. Participation in these sessions assists children to become comfortable and confident to start school, helping them transition well into Kindergarten. Sessions are held once a week every Friday, 9:00am - 10:15am or 1:30pm- 2.45pm.
If you have not received enrolment forms for 2022, please contact the school office to request enrolment forms. We look forward to meeting all of our Kindergarten families for 2022 and working together to build a strong connection between home and school.
