End of Year Assemblies
Plans for our end of year assemblies are well underway. Similar to last year we need to observe COVID-19 density requirements, meaning offering assemblies at different times to ensure that students can have at least one family member attend. Sign in and sound hygiene practices will need to be followed. We appreciate your understanding and support of our decision making, whilst not ideal we are mindful of our responsibility under the current health instructions. We will continue to communicate any changes to assemblies in a timely manner.
Assembly Times will be as follows:
Kinder – Prep Celebration Assembly – 9.15am – 9.45am – Thursday, December 9 (2 Family members are permitted to attend)
P/1 – Grade 1/2 Celebration Assembly – 10.00am – 10.45am - Thursday, December 9 (2 Family members are permitted to attend)
Grade 3 – 5 Celebration Assembly – 9.30am – 10.30am – Tuesday, December 14 (Family members can attend by invitation only)
Grade 6 Celebration Assembly – 11.45am – 1.00pm – Tuesday, December 14 (2 Family members are permitted to attend)
Fire Evacuation and Lock Down Procedure
In the coming week we will be having a number of practice evacuation drills to test our processes and ensure students are aware of protocols and safe movement around the school should the need arise. These happen throughout the course of the year, however we have just installed a new PA System which has changed our alarm warning sounds slightly. Explicit teaching and guidance from staff will support students during this process, however if families can speak to their children about the importance and the need for these as an additional learning opportunity that would be appreciated.
Each procedure will require staff and students to follow a different course of action, from lining up on the netball court to remaining in a secure building under the supervision of a staff member.
Fire Evacuation
These may occur in the event of the following
- Fire on the premise or near by
- Other perceived threats or actions
Lock Down Procedure
These may occur for some of the following reasons, but not limited to.
- Severe storm conditions
- Dangerous animal onsite
- Dangerous situations or other emergencies (medical or property damage)
- Dysregulated student needing support and safety

Student Assistance Scheme (STAS) 2022
Student Assistance Scheme (STAS) 2022 letters have been sent to all families who were approved for STAS in 2021 advising them if they have been approved or not approved.
If a family wishes to add a new student to their existing STAS file they simply need to email their name, and the full name, date of birth, and grade of the student in 2022 via email to stas@education.tas.gov.au and we will add them to their existing file.
Alternatively, they can return the approval letter they have received which has the facility to provide the details of a newly enrolling student and can be returned.
Note: STAS 2022 approval letters only need to be returned to Financial Services if the parent/guardian is adding a new student to their file
Families applying for STAS for the first time can apply online at the STAS website or complete a hard copy form.
For any queries regarding this process please contact our School Business Manager, 63944700.

In the Garden with Grades 5/6
This term the grade 5/6 classes have been visiting the garden. What a wonderful bunch of students!! They have been very artistic painting hub caps into flowers ready for our fence display. They look fantastic. Students completed garden maintenance and then did some fruit art last week! As well as looking great, they tasted delicious. Thanks 5/6's.
Mrs Jordan
Exeter Primary students assembled on the 11 November to commemorate Remembrance Day. Our students should be commended on their behaviour and the respect shown as the school community paid their respects to those who have served in the Australian Armed Forces. Thank you to Grace, Libby, Willow, Jezara, Solomon and Cleveland who led the assembly, spoke beautifully and reminded us of why the day is important.
