From the Principal

Personally I cannot believe that we are at the end of the school year! I would like to take the opportunity to thank the school community for a wonderful year of learning. Exeter Primary School is a dynamic place which provides a wide range of opportunities for students to grow as individuals; academically, socially and emotionally. In my short time here at the school I am impressed with scope of extra curricular activities; Esk Band, Dance Fever, STEAM, Sport, Children’s University and Maths Relay to name a few.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to farewell our Grade 6 students and wish them all the best for their future beyond our school gate. We also bid farewell to a few staff who are leaving Exeter Primary School to continue their careers in other settings. To Mr Scott Brown, Mrs Jane Upson and Mrs Sallyann Geale, we thank you for your contribution to the students you have had under your care and wish you every success in your new setting.

In 2020 we will welcome a number of new teachers to our school; Miss Grace Bannon (Grade 4/5), Mrs Peta Kerrison (Grade 1/2), Mrs Katrina Mahar (Prep), Mrs Ellen Smith (Literacy Coach), Miss Roxy Walls (Grade 1/2) and Mrs Marie Dalamore (Music).

Finally I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday period and I look forward to seeing everyone in the new school year.

K-2 End of Year Assembly

Congratulations to all the K-2 students who participated in the Celebration Assembly for 2019 and to all those who received an award. It was wonderful to see the class items and students engaging in music to perform for friends and family. Every class selected a unique piece to sing, ranging from Christmas songs to outback items. Class teachers worked tirelessly throughout the term to turn these musical items into performance grade songs with actions to tell a story. Thanks to all our families who came along to celebrate the year and join in with our community singing. A fantastic time was had by all. We wish you a very merry Christmas.

Thank You

Thank you very much to the School Association and families for the beautiful flowers I received at the K-2 Celebration Assembly last week. They are looking stunning with many of the glorious orange lilies opening and contrasting with the lovely greens and purples.

I’ve certainly had a long association with our primary school and have enjoyed working in a variety of roles.

It is with both sadness and excitement that I leave Exeter for the next part of my teaching career.

I have been very touched by the numerous best wishes people have sent to me upon hearing of my transfer.

Exeter and its wonderful families and staff will continue to hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to hearing great things about you all.

Thanks again,
Jane Upson
