From the Principal

A warm welcome back to everyone as we begin Term 2. It has been a smooth start with students transitioning into classroom routines seamlessly. The weather is on the turn as we are experiencing cool starts to the day, a reminder to pack a jumper or coat.

ANZAC Day
It was a pleasure to again attend the local ANZAC Day service at Exeter this year and hear messages and stories about what our service men and women endure during wartime to provide a democratic and safe place for us to live in. Each year we continue to build our knowledge and understanding of the value of determination, mateship, sacrifice, and courage and reflect on how these attributes can transfer into our own daily lives for the betterment of our community.

We thank Steph and Bailey who represented Exeter Primary School at the Exeter ANZAC Day Service.

Parent and Carer Communication

In the coming weeks families will notice a change in the way in which the school will communicate information regarding reminders about events and attendance as we move to the new Edsmart system.

EdSmart will be used for messaging and will be mandatory state-wide. EdSmart will be replacing SMS Global (and any other messaging products).

EdSmart is an Australian communication and workflow platform trusted by hundreds of schools to improve communication in the school community. EdSmart is a cloud-based software that enables schools to handle all communication with parents/guardians electronically. It will mainly be used to manage absences and other messaging for phase one of the project.

Here's how it will work for absentee notifications and responses:

You will be sent an email or SMS notification with a link to click which opens a secure web page version of an absentee response form. Complete the form and submit. These links can be accessed on your phone, tablet or computer at your convenience.

Privacy & Data Security

EdSmart is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 accredited, which refers specifically to the requirements for establishing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of an organisation.

All of the data you submit in the Forms is held in a secure database only accessible to authorised DECYP, school staff and EdSmart personnel.
