The 2025 School Satisfaction Survey is here!

We want to hear from you, as input from families is especially important to help us inform our school planning and decision-making.

Every year the Department for Education, Children and Young People conducts a School Satisfaction Survey to find out what your child(ren)'s school does well and where it may improve.

We would be grateful if you took part in our online survey about Exeter Primary School.

The survey is open from Monday 25 August 2025 until Friday 19 September 2025 and should take about 5 minutes to complete. Each family should nominate one person to fill in this survey for their child(ren).

Take the online survey by scanning the QR Code or pasting the following link into your browser: https://nam.dcv.ms/vu5DexOkX8 The survey is conducted on a secure website and all responses are anonymous and confidential.

All families in this school received the same survey link and no identifying information is collected.

A summary of the survey results will be provided to schools. Responses from individuals or small groups will NOT be disclosed to any Department for Education, Children and Young People staff. Please contact your school if you require any assistance.

Class Placement 2026

We will soon begin the process of constructing our classes for the 2026 school year. If there is any relevant information that we need to consider regarding your child’s, academic, social, and emotional wellbeing during our process, please email me directly before Wednesday, September 17. zachary.tayor@decyp.tas.gov.au

As a staff we conduct a rigorous process to ensure that there is equity for all classes, requests cannot be guaranteed. Requests of individual teachers will not be considered.

We are presently taking Kindergarten enrolments; we have information sessions planned during Term 4 to support our new families settle into school life.

If your child will not be remaining at Exeter Primary School in 2026, can you please contact the school office as soon as possible.

Staff Farewell

We sadly say goodbye to Mrs Sam Streefland as a Teacher Assistant for the past 18 months. Sam has worked across the school supporting students engage and access their curriculum. During the past 12 months Sam has been in the kindergarten space supporting our young people transition into the school environment. We wish Sam all the best and we will see her in and around the school as a mum.

Sickness and Illness and Medication

There is a huge spike in sickness now, particularly with influenza, we have seen over 60 students away daily along with a number of staff.

We are encouraging everyone to follow the simple advice:

  • Do not come to school if unwell – this applies to staff, students, and visitors.
  • Keep your hands clean by using soap and water or hand sanitiser.
  • Staff, students, and visitors are asked to practise all safe behaviours and follow Public Health advice that is relevant to their personal circumstances.

We appreciate the support of families by keeping their unwell children at home and wish everyone a speedy recovery.

We cannot administer medication of any form unless parent supply the school with the relevant completed Authorisation for Administration of Student Medication Form for the medication. If this does not occur, the school must not administer student medication. Both Authorisation for Student Medication forms (A and B) are available on DECYP’s website or please contact the school office for more information.
